Hello, loyal readers.

Actually, I don’t think loyalty is a prerequisite for reading this blog, so welcome to all non-loyal readers as well!  As the newest member of the Hot Girls staff, you may be wondering who I am.  I’m Shaun, aka Sloomie.  You may know me from the award-winning series “The Brilliance of Sloomie,” where Cody has taken a few of our private correspondences and completely infringed my copyrights by posting them on this blog without my prior permission.

Cody and I have many similar interests, including baseball, 24, and video games.  However, our tastes in music are almost totally incompatible, though it wasn’t always that way.  As children we both loved the musical stylings of Raffi.  I think everyone can agree that “Down by the Bay” was a triumph equal to or perhaps greater than the kid from Slumdog Millionaire winning tons of money, the love of his childhood sweetheart, and multiple Oscars all at the same time.

However, as I grew older I tended to favor more densely layered and intricately composed songs from bands such as Arcade Fire that require the artists to play actual musical instruments.  Cody has gone in a slightly different, if not necessarily more effeminate, direction.

I look forward to maintaining the high level of discourse this blog has so far established, and following Cody’s lead I will attempt to insert as many Jack Bauer references into my posts as possible.
